Domenico Formichetti takes PDF to new heights with his first runway show at Milan Fashion Week, marking a turning point for the brand. Inspired by the cultural fusion of 90s and 2000s hip-hop with the technical aesthetics of snow sports, “United Jam” challenges the boundaries between luxury and streetwear.
Cinematic references from Boyz n the Hood and Menace II Society are reflected in oversized jerseys, Timberlands, and baggy denim, reinterpreted with a futuristic twist. Blazers with deconstructed lapels, utilitarian overalls in iridescent fabrics, and quilted outerwear merge functionality with boldness.
“This collection is about hybridity,” says Formichetti. “It’s about how cultures collide and create something entirely new.” That energy was palpable on a runway filled with models, artists, and brand friends like Moise Keane, Sita Abellan, and Alvin Kamara.
With “United Jam,” PDF not only pays tribute to the past but also challenges the future of fashion. As Formichetti puts it: “It’s a love letter to the culture that shaped me, but also a provocation—a call to imagine what’s next.”
