British Fashion: Council Announces Laura Weir as New CEO

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has appointed Laura Weir as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), a role she will assume on April 28, 2025. Laura will succeed Caroline Rush CBE, who has led the BFC for 15 years and will step down in June 2025.

With extensive experience in fashion, retail, and publishing, Laura Weir is poised to guide the organization into a new era. David Pemsel, Chairman of the BFC, praised her strategic vision and ability to drive positive initiatives both nationally and internationally.Laura stated: “It is an honor to lead this organization at such a crucial moment for British fashion. I will work to champion creativity, support emerging and established designers, and address challenges like sustainability and inclusion.”In her new role, she will oversee key BFC programs, including the Institute of Positive Fashion, London Fashion Week, and the Fashion Awards, strengthening the global impact of British fashion.
